Darwin’s frog

Ok, this fellow is really cool! The Darwin’s frog a tiny frog that’s rather rare! It is one of the few frogs known for its broodcare. In this case the male takes the tadpoles in the mouth and caries them around.

We know that it lives in our forests, but very few people ever get the chance to see one here. We do have some visiting herpetologists at the station, that spent an entire week searching for it, and finally found this juvenile specimen.
