Birds… many

Wow, what a great day for photos. I had to go out on the boat to change the batteries on our penguin experiment on the little 30km far away island called Lilihuapi. I just love being alone on the boat. You can stop when ever you want ;) And today it was really worth it. I stopped twice to check out what some gulls were doing. And on both occasions they were trying to get a large fish that was swimming on the surface. One of them was a “jurel”. The one on the way back was a “congrio”. I managed to get both on the boat. And we just had them for Dinner :D

On top of that I had some great photo opportunities.

I’ve been following these guys for a while, only with less convincing results. But today they were busy feeding and the light was good.

Then there was this guy here. Had never seen them around. It’s a Chilean Skua (Stercorarius chilensis).

And last but not least one of my favorite shots! The lile, or Red-Legged Cormorant (Phalacrocorax gaimardi). You have to view that one in large!
