Cyano bacteria at hot sprigs

In march we had a group of scientists studying the cyanobacteria that live in the hot springs of Porcelana. The cyanos are mostly a dark blueish green, but the closer you get to the source and the hotter the water gets (almost 70°C), the less chlorophyll they have. This turns them into an orange color, due to the left over carotinoids. Even higher, these are also gone, turning the bacteria white. Very nice color spectrum ;)
